Full Product Description
This recall involves the Rexall Water Teethers. The teether is filled with liquid and shaped like either a hand or a foot. The product was intended for infants between 3 to 18 months. The recalled teether can be identified by UPC 771058024101.

Hazard Identified
Health Canada requires that infant teether fillings not contain any living micro-organisms. Testing by Health Canada of these teethers has revealed that the filling of the teethers are contaminated with mould and the bacteria Bacillus coagulans. Exposure to moulds may cause allergic reactions in some individuals while exposure to Bacillus coagulans generally does not cause illness.

Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this product.

Corrective Action
Consumers should immediately take the recalled teethers away from children and return the product to the nearest store that carries Rexall Products for a full refund. Examples of such stores are Rexall, Pharmaplus, IDA, Guardian, and the Medicine Shoppe.
